While Air and Sea battles were common in WW2, Ground battles were being fought really frequently or while the other battles were going on. Some really well-known battles that took place on the ground were the Battle of Crete, the Battle of Iwo Jima, and the Battle of The Bulge. These battles were very destructive and fought by many soldiers on the ground, also with tanks and other mobile vehicles. Tanks were also used frequently in wars because they deliver a very heavy and strong shot that travels really fast, and delivers an extremely destructive impact. The Battle of the Bulge was popular because the allies broke through Normandy, and Hitler surprised the allies and more than 19,000 died. Though, "The Germans had limited supplies and could only fight for few days to before fuel and ammunition ran out, so the offensive soon ran out of steam" (Hambling, 2016, p6). So, The Germans had a large surprise against the Americans, and they killed a lot of allies, though they ran out of resources and the allies' troops attacked the Germans and won this battle.
